Tips and Tricks: 1. Discuss how sound and music adds mood and an extra dimension to a performance. 2. Readers' Theatre - find introductory music to set the mood of the play, add sound effects to the script where appropriate, add some applause and cheers (kids love this) 2. Plug a laptop into some nice loud speakers for performance. 3. Give the group 20 minutes to find their sounds and if they aren't satisfied with what they find they have to find the rest on their own time. 4. The sound effects person has to be written into the script. 5. The sound effects person must have a copy of the script with cues clearly marked. 6. In practicing the play rotate the roles so everyone gets an opportunity to reherse every character and command the special effects. 7. HAVE FUN and ENJOY THE LEARNING & PERFORMANCE!
